Bridges, crowns and veneers

Crowns and bridges are designed as sustainable replacements for teeth. They approach the original form and function as much as possible. Treatment for a crown or bridge is more complicated than a simple filling, and will result in multiple visits to the dentist.

WHAT IS A CROWN?

A crown is a cap of metal and/or porcelain that fits over an abutment tooth. The cap is attached on the tooth with glue. By getting a crown, the tooth will get its original shape and function and will be a more solid construction for bridges.

WHAT IS A BRIDGE?

A bridge is made to replace one or more missing teeth and/or molars. A bridge is attached to two or more pillars. These are buffed teeth on either side of the open space of the missing tooth. A bridge consists of two or more crowns that fit on piers and a bridge between part, better known as a 'dummy'. This consists of one or more artificial teeth and/or molars which are located on the open space and fill them again.
